AWARD-WINNING SUPERSTAR LAURA PAUSINI JOINS THE INAUGURAL INTERNATIONAL PEACE HONORS, PRESENTED BY PEACETECH LAB, ON JANUARY 17
One of the most globally recognized Italian singers confirmed her participation in the event that will honor some of today’s greatest changemakers and peacebuilders.
The artist will perform “Io Si”, the theme song for the film The Life Ahead, starring movie icon Sofia Loren.

Washington DC, December 18, 2020 – GRAMMY® Award-winning Italian artist, songwriter and producer, Laura Pausini, joins the growing list of celebrities who will be part of the International Peace Honors, presented by PeaceTech Lab, to be globally broadcasted, on January 17. The event will recognize opinion leaders, innovators, and change agents, whose common goal is to build a more just and equitable future.

“Throughout her entire career, Laura Pausini has shared beautiful, unifying music that conveys messages of hope, acceptance, optimism and warmth. In her most recent project with Sofía Loren, she further reflects these values, which are fundamental to peacebuilding everywhere. Laura Pausini will perform live “Io Si,” the main theme of The Life Ahead, available on Netflix, with music by Diane Warren (eleven-time Oscar® nominee and winner of the GRAMMY®, Emmy® and Golden Globe Awards ®) and lyrics by Diane Warren, Laura Pausini and Niccolo Agliardi. The film, starring Sofía Loren, has marked a milestone in the career of the Italian diva, with a powerful message of acceptance and diversity, which is so necessary at this time.

Inspired by the idea of ​​shaping a more just and equitable future, the International Peace Honors will broadcast digitally on Sunday, January 17 at 8:00 pm EST to a global audience and recognize some of today’s most innovative leaders.

The ceremony will also recognize Amazonian Chief Raoni Metuktire, leader of the Kayapó people, located in a protected reserve in the Amazon region of Brazil, who will receive his award from singer and environmentalist Sting. Also honored are Black Lives Matter Co-Founder Opal Tometi and National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Dr. Anthony Fauci, both on TIME’S 2020 list of the 100 Most Influential People of the Year, singer-songwriter and activist Ricky Martin, the ‘Father of the Internet’ Vint Cerf, and the prominent Venezuelan singer and composer Ricardo Montaner, among others.
